First, Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!! I hope you all have special days filled with those you love =-)
Valentine’s day is a GREAT time to tell those closest to you that you love them. But more than that, to tell them why. Don’t we all need to know why we are loved sometimes; what makes us special? I know I do. So this year we all made valentine’s for each other telling some of the why’s. Then I decorated everyone's door with hearts that told traits/characteristics about them we all love! Everyone had fun making them for each other and they LOVED their decorated doors =-)
Hopefully my kids feel loved, encouraged & special!!
Valentine’s day is extra special at our because it is Daddy’s birthday. So we do a little less Valentine’s and a little more celebrating of a birthday. But we do have a nice dinner (as a family). I use china, make one of Daddy’s favorite meals, light candles, and put on nice classical music. Then we all get spiffed up have a nice dinner together. The kids think it is SO special!! Plus getting a sitter on Valentine’s can get a little crazy, not to mention how crowded restaurants get. So this works for us =-)
Daddy also gets each of us girls a flower (it doesn’t need to be a rose or a huge assortment that are all super pricey on Valentine’s Day anyway – it is the thought that counts and we girls feel special!). I buy the boys some of their favorite chocolate (and yes Daddy shares =-)
Simple & Sweet. How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day at your house?
