My 1st grader was zipping through our Language Arts program until we got to the rule breakers! Ugh…. the English language is hard! So I started using various creative activities to help him interact with the words to practice without just drilling/writing them over and over again. These Spelling Word Searches seemed to do the trick! He loves word searches, the fun images on the sheets (especially the dog one), and gets the practice he needs at the same time!
There are 51 pages of word searches with about 20 words per page. I created them to go alongside our Sing Spell Read & Write (SSRW) Program, but they would be a great enrichment for any other Language Arts program or for K-3rd grade too. If you are using SSRW the lists begin with lessons 19 and go through the end of the book.

Note: These are a great way to practice with spelling words, but they are not intended to take the place of a Language Arts curriculum.
You can always use a page protector and a dry erase marker so that your child(ren) can do these over and over without having to incur the cost of printing them over and over again.
